The First Date

As I mentioned a guy contacted me within 2 days of setting up my profile, we will call him Mr Cautious as he used a fictional pet name. I was wary cause he was wary and I can tell you the fact that we eventually met was all thanks to Nite's mediating efforts. I wanted to write him a scathing sarcastic email telling him what he can do with his fictional name and his equally fictional email. But...long story short we met after a morning of disaster for me.

First the car was out of gas, then I was running out of time (which is irony considering daylight savings is over, you actually gained an hour extra), then I went to the wrong building and when I try to find my way out, my GPS died on me. So I had to call for my cousin who gave instructions that made no sense to me. Lucky I was early (which is rare) with 1/2 hour to spare. As it is, I was 5 to 10 mins late - not the best first impression.

The first thing I noticed was, OMG, he got a mole on his face and that reminded me of my gossip boyfriend. I think at one point I was starring at his mole until he thought I was looking out the window and he turned as well. Wah pai seh~ but he was gentlemanly enough to pay for my lunch and also want to see me to my car.

As far as first dates goes, this one rate 5/10 which is pretty good for a first timer (I mean me). No awkward silences and good conversation flow. Did I expect sparks to fly? Nope I don't, not a realist like me. If you are wondering did we do any soul searching, nope we didn't either, we just talk general safe topics but I might have put him off travelling to China.
